The objective of the course is to master simple phrases, expressions and grammatical structures; adopt basic business terminology; develop numerical expression skills; help students imrove their communication skills; training students to translate and write short texts (messages, notices, advertisements) using the dictionary; to understand, with the help of context, speakers slowly speaking; train students to use dictionaries and online translation tools; develop their self-learning skills; familiarize them with French culture and economics.
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to understand and use simple phrases, expressions and grammatical structures and basic business terminology in everyday situations (in the office, shop, hotel, etc;); talk about basic topics (personal and professional information, where they live and work, people from a personal and professional environment, their working day and business activities, organization and activities of the company); to translate short general and professional texts with the help of a dictionary; They will be able to communicate in written form their basic needs and establish basic professional communication, using the adopted lexical and grammatical elements; to present tourist destinations, French companies, culture; to use dictionaries, textbooks and internet translation tools and self-learning.
Theoretical teaching
Topics: France, Francophony, tourist centers, French brands and companies, French films and music.
Language competencies. Basic general vocabulary and everyday phrases; general business terminology and selection of terminology in the field of tourism, trade, finance and IT; revision and deepening of knowledge from the following areas: present tense of regular and main irregular verbs; Future Simple Tense; definite and indefinite article; prepositions; demonstrative and possesive adjectives, gender and number of nouns and adjectives, numbers, personal pronouns (accentuated and unaccentuated); structure of questions and question words; negation; comparison;sensitivity to perfect and present conditional.
Practical training
Communication competences. Developing language skills (listening, writing, reading, speaking) through appropriate activities and simulation of situations: presenting and meeting other people in a business environment; filling in the formsrequiring personal information; calling and answering a business call; scheduling business meetings and conferences; conducting a purchase; hotel reservations; organization of business trips and business conferences; plans for the future, presentation of companies, products and services.
Practice work. Presentation of the tourist destination in France and French companies using the mother tongue and basic phrases in French.
